It's here! Jurassic World: Dominion hits theaters

The new Jurassic World: Dominion comes out in theaters this week on June 10, 2022 and I am so excited!!! The trailer promises to be the “ EPIC conclusion” of the Jurassic Era with two generations of scientists from Jurassic Park and Jurassic World uniting one last time.

Before watching Jurassic World: Dominion, I suggest you watch all five movies again. Lucky for you, I have done this already and I have provided a brief overview.

Jurassic Park and Jurassic World recaps

Jurassic Park (1993)

Credited with igniting a dinosaur craze, the flagship movie centers around the dream to bring dinosaurs back from extinction to live and breed on a remote island. The paleontologists marvel at seeing extinct creatures alive again, while the dinosaurs show the capitalists who’s boss . It’s a classic that remains good watching for the whole family.

The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)

The Lost World: Jurassic Park began with a secret second site where dinosaurs were alive, co-existing, and breeding. John Hammond sent a team to document the living fossil collections at the second site. Once the team arrives, they must face investors who want to capture the dinosaurs and put them in a zoo. It’s again a battle between nature and capitalism as the team tries to protect the dinosaurs from economic exploitation.

Best quote: “Mommy’s very angry.”

Jurassic Park III (2001)

Jurassic Park III starts out as a rescue mission for a wealthy couples’ son who is lost on the island inhabited by dinosaurs. They explore the island trying to find the son, and life finds a way once again in an epic battle between dinosaurs and humans.

Best quote: “Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the best intentions.. You know, as far as I'm concerned, you're no better than the people who built this place.”

Jurassic World (2015)

Jumping 22 years into the future we find a new theme park having been built on top of the original Jurassic Park. The scientists decide to create a hybrid dinosaur to increase visitor attraction, but things go horribly wrong.

Best quote: “Just relax. It's just like taking a stroll through the woods. 65 million years ago.”

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a rescue mission to save the dinosaurs from the island after the park closed three years prior. An active volcano threatens the lives of the dinosaurs and it’s a race against time as the scientists scramble to prevent another extinction-level event.

Best quote: “Do you remember the first time you saw a dinosaur? First time you see them, it's like... a miracle. You read about them in books, you see the bones in museums but you don't really... believe it. They're like myths. And then you see... the first one alive.”

Why you should see Jurassic World: Dominion

The Jurassic Park movies are exhilarating and exciting, not only for their on-the-edge-of-your-seat action, but who doesn't wonder what it wold be like to come across dinosaurs in real life? They are thrilling and awe-inspiring, and you can’t help but be curious about them whatever your age. And I’m no different.
